Wonderful! It sounds like you had a great weekend. Love the mermaid commission. You are such a sweet mommy. ahhhh.

Awesome! I am sooooo in.
And I have supply questions already. I have most of the supplies listed, but have Golden heavy body acrylics, not the fluids. Is that going to be ok?
Also any particular brand of crackle paint that you'd recommend?

That sounds so great Julie! I only wish I could sign up for it, but maybe the next time around;) I'm sure it'll be great-
have a great day!!

Hi Everyone! I list the Ranger Crackle Paste which works just fine because it costs about $5... you can also use the Golden Crackle Paste...my jar is marked $15. You cannot speed the drying time on the Golden..so if you are patient..no problem. Both are fine...you get a lot more bang for your buck with Golden though..
Evangeline! Yes- you can use heavy body paints, but you will need to thin them out. You can do so by adding the Acrylic Glazing Liquid (Gloss) to them..no problem!~

Yay!!!! I'm in! I've been waiting for this day....now I have to start waiting for May 18! Is it here yet?

Ok, so tell me you'll be doing this class again -- because I'm saving ALL FUNDS for my trip to England and must pass this go 'round.

Hi Julie,
I just signed up. My one question is you say in the supply list Stabilo pencil in black I'm ordering some stuff off of dickblicks so would that be a black stabilo marking pencil? I saw a few different types there and just like to make sure. So looking forward to this class...THANKS

Hi Julie,
Thank you for visiting our 'Main'street on my blog today. And: your little Bubble teachter/princess, if not Bubble queenie, is so adorable. That triumphant look, priceless indeed!

Hi Julie, Have never done an online class before and soooo want to sign up. can you tell me does it matter with the time difference (I am in Australia). Are they "live" classes or do we just download the video when we can???
Cheers,
Gaye

Hi Everyone! It doesn't matter what time zone you're in...Lost Luggage Layer Love is open 24/7! Videos will be posted several times every week so that you can view them at your leisure..and as many times as you want. Videos can only be viewed on the network at this time...no need to have an extra hard drive to house them on your computer!

I so wish I could take this class. But my schedule isn't going to allow the time for it. Tell me please that you'll be doing this again sometime.

I just signed up for your class, and I can hardly wait till we start. But I'd like to know, do we need Crackle Paste or Crackle Paint? Also the crayons you mentioned are they watercolor crayons? I've never heard of them before. And last, what's a Stabilo Pencil?

I'm just starting to get into collage and more "artsy" art because I'm no longer satisfied with simply scrapbooking/cardmaking. Is this class suitable for beginners who haven't really gotten into acrylic painting before?
Posted by: Astraea | April 30, 2009 at 09:09 AM
Hi Astraea!
I am glad you asked.. YES. I filmed nine projects so that you could watch each one and learn and develop as you go.. all projects use the same techniques, adding a little here and there as the weeks progress. I feel confident that you will be able to learn the layering techniques I use after completing the class. Also, I can help you all along the way in the network.
I do not use fancy vocabulary…or hard to understand techniques.. I made sure to explain everything so people would get it at any level.
I urge the beginners to make sure you understand the cost of the supply list though… if you do not have paint yet, it could get expensive. Just check it out first.
Thank you for emailing! Hope to see you in class.

Look at you, girlfriend!!! You really rock, kiddo... if I hadn't just signed up for a digital photography/photoshop class and offered to mentor in the photo lab, I'd be leaving skid marks at the door, trying to get to your class!!! What a marvelous idea, I know it will be a big hit (LoVE the font you used for the title, too!!!) xoxo, All my best!

Hi Julie!
I just saw you in Suzi Blu video talking about your class and I just had to sign up. :) I need any help I can get with my backgrounds. :) I just have a silly question, where will the classes be? You are talking about a network but I don´t know which one. Help! :)

Whooo! I'll be signing up on May 14, which is next payday...meanwhile I'll see about gathering my supplies. QUESTION: Are there alternatives to the listed materials (i.e., black pencil) in case we can't afford to buy all new? I have lots of things already in my stash.

Julie, I'm in!! Yippee! So Nicholas Rowe is my DH... but it's Rosie (yes, me!!) who's taking your class! I'm so excited - now to go check out the supplies list!
Thanks for doing this - I'm really looking forward to it! Hugggggggggssssss

Hello Julie,
I want to sign in... and I probably will cause I'm really interested in layered backgrounds to use for all kinds of stuff.
I just don't have the time to make a lot of projects for the moment: it's almost the end of the year and there is a lot of writing to do for school...
Will I be able to watch the videos in july and august ? I have vacation then, and that's the perfect moment to create.
I just give it a go and sign in... right now..
greetings
Inge from belgium

Hi Julie,
I'm signed up. Question, do we just go to your blog and you know who has signed up and who hasn't and we have access to your video? Or do you send us an email or how exactly do we access theses videos? Thanks.
