You are here.

You are here journal page

Many of you have been asking for pictures of our new house. Without further adieu, I give you my new kitchen:

Prichard kitchen

Do you love it? This picture pretty much speaks the condition of the entire house at the moment...if not worse. What you don't see here are that there are no bathrooms (although I am assured they are coming along nicely) and no floors (also which I am assured are coming along nicely).

Me oh my...was that exciting golf this weekend or what? What fantastic entertainment....really fantastic. It is not often that you see an event with such amazing sportsmanship!

I'm back to picking out paint....and making appointments...see you later! Thanks for coming by!

Amazing possibilities...

Amazing inside

I sit in bed every morning dreaming about everything that we have been through in the last year...everything that we started out to do is quickly wrapping up. We're moving in on the 28th...will I miss the traffic noise outside my apartment window? Nope. That's for sure...I hope I can get to sleep in the "quiet" of the new house. The US Open starts today...there is no onsite parking at Torrey Pines...everyone has to park a couple of blocks down the street from me and take a bus to the course. Delightful.

Tile is arriving today, appliances soon, window coverings, furniture, flooring...everything is in process. Now I am a lot less stressed and starting to enjoy the process a little better. I"ve even had a little free time to throw some paint around.

Thank you for stopping by today!

I spend time wondering...

10yearsfrom now

I spend time wondering what my life will be like 10 years from now.... do you?

6x6 journal page using up some of the "resist" paper I made for Crusade 21.

Please enjoy.

Every once in a while I play with heavy body acrylics....I love the versitility of the paints and was able to get a great score of them on ebay a while ago. This page is slathered in gold paint.

Please enjoy CU1

Hope you're having a great week! I have new admiration for the people who sell tile....what a mess. I spent so much time picking out and agonizing over the tile (two bathrooms, kitchen, dining room) only to find out that it would not be available until July. No good.. Sigh. So I went back to the tile place and had to reselect everything and by the time I finished, the warehouse was closed...so I will find out this morning if the second batch of tile will work for us. I hope it does...those people are going to kill me! I am ready to have the contractor pour concrete through the house and call it a day. With all of these details all over the place I have not even given thought to what will go into the new art studio.....I'm fine with that. I just want the hell out of this apartment. I'm sure I can design the studio pretty quickly.

The back feels better....but not 100% yet. Most of the pain comes when I am sitting..I'm doing a lot of stretching and standing to help get better quickly. I apologize if my comments and emails seem short.

See you soon!

Crusade 21: Irresistible

21 button

Another month means another GPP Street Team Crusade! You can check out the beautiful tutorial and details for this month's crusade by clicking here. Don't forget; anyone can join in on the crusades!

Clover CU3

The Crusade is to make a wax resist using crayon and then to embellish it with paint. For my resist, I wrapped paper around some glasses I have had for a while. The pattern of the glasses is called "Clover" and it is one of my favorites from the "old job".

004

I made three pieces. Two with red crayon and one with white. I think the white one was my favorite. I painted some interference paint on top of it to spice it up a bit.

Clover CU1

This shot is with the camera flash to show the special effect paint...see that glimmer of purple near my signature? Love it. You can really see that purple flash when you turn the paper in the light!

Confidential

Here is the white paper thrown into the 6x6 mini-journal. I had to escape the back pain and contractor pain today and play along.... Thanks, Michelle!

You can quote me...

No quotations journal page

I wish there was a better way to capture color and depth in these pictures...I spent a long time layering paint on this page and it is much richer in person. Maybe once we move I can photograph with better results than scanning...

So demolition started yesterday.....I have never wanted to be so far away from a project! Just call me when I can move in. I'm spending afternoons in the yard, pruning and trimming....much easier than picking out tile.

Hope you're having a good weekend!

It's a book.

There was a lot of "blatter" (my new coined phrase for 'blog chatter'; follows "blurfing", the recognized term for 'blog surfing') recently for this book. Me oh my; I am going to read it tonight, but the illustrations alone are mesmerizing! So happy I ordered it! People who know me well know that I don't normally read books. I recently came across a dilemma that changed everything though....what to buy for treats when you already own everything from every art supply store within a 70 mile radius? Books. I ordered two this month. (Stop laughing....it's a start...and when I told you I did not know how to read, I was only kidding.) The second book I ordered is here. I can't wait for it to show up on the porch!

So, what else....oh- tile, paint and furniture shopping is exhausting. Escrow is exhausting...I need a vacation, but now the work has begun! I'll rest in a couple of months I guess. Thanks for the emails about my back..it's still sore, but no where near as painful as it was at the start of this escapade.

I have been journaling...here's the cover of the new 6x6 book and a recent page:

The onion will make you cry. The Lost Luggage first page without acrylic paint! I like it! Hope you all have a nice weekend; I'll see you again soon!

Embrace

Here's the final page in the Living Room... a short trip this time. I'm working in a new journal already; more on that later. Busy busy week for me... don't forget me when I'm gone.
